I had an amazing week last week at the hospital. I helped deliver a baby through C-section and another one through just regular vaginal delivery. I would go into details as to what happened, but I don’t want to get in trouble with HIPAA so I might do that in another private blog instead. I got to spend only 2 days in labor & delivery and I got to see exactly everything that I had hoped to see. I even gave the babies their first Hepatitis B injections, Vitamin K injections, and placed Erythromycin ointment in their eyes. The first IM injections on babies is always a little scary because you don’t know what to expect and whether you’re doing it correctly. I also did an AccuCheck on a baby and I felt really bad because you can’t really warn a baby that he/she is going to a feel a prick. You just kind of do it and then they cry their head off! I fall in love with every baby in there whether they’re funny looking or not. 😉 I can’t help it. I have a weakness for babies. They’re so goddamn cute!! I am definitely going to miss OB once I get rotated back into Med/Surg.
Work has not been as entertaining and fun as usual. One of my favorite co-workers who is also an amateur comedian has decided to take a couple of weeks off because his wife just had a baby girl. They brought the baby in yesterday to show her off and she was so goddamn cute. She looked a lot like him. I didn’t really see any of the wife in the baby. The wife has blonde hair and he has dark hair. I keep telling him that the baby looks hella Asian and has his big Asian nose. My other favorite co-worker is planning on going on a leave of absence because she’s in a teaching program. The teaching program is pretty time consuming so she’s going to not work for a month and then come back. The only two co-workers that I fuck off and talk to are those two and they’re both gone at the same time. Damn!! It’s just not the same there. I’ll probably be leaving soon too, but permanently so we’ll see what happens. Even my one and only favorite janitor is going on vacation. It was funny this morning because he was telling me that he wasn’t going to be at work on the 19th until _________ all in Spanish. This janitor speaks Spanish and a few English words here and there so he would always just speak to me in Spanish. I can understand Spanish, but I’m not good at responding in Spanish. So he tells me that he’s off and I thought he meant he was quitting. I didn’t know how to say that in Spanish so I just kept saying, “Adios? Adios?” LMAO. That is Spanglish at its finest!! Haha. I’m so dumb. He finally understood what I was trying to say and he told me he wasn’t quitting, but simply just going on vacation.
Man, I am a monster. I pretty much did all of my homework within two days just so I could go to a shooting range to shoot some guns! I’ve shot BB guns before, but not a real gun if you know what I mean. It was pretty fuckin’ fun until one of the hot bullet shells flew down my cleavage. I saw it pop up and go down my cleavage and then I felt this burning sensation. I was moving around trying to get it to fall out of my shirt. Ha. I’m surprised I didn’t drop the loaded gun. Needless to say, I now have burn marks on my boobs. My boobs are no longer perfect. FML! LOL. I swear, anything that seems impossible, I make it possible! Who would’ve known that hot ass bullet shells would go down a cleavage. What are the chances of that happening? My date and I asked the guy at the counter if it happens often and he said, “Yes.” I had so much fun though!! I would totally do it again. I can now cross that one off of my list. What’s next? Skydiving? Yes!!! 🙂

P.S. I have class tomorrow so if I start groping myself because of my injured boobies, my excuse will be that since we are learning about pregnant Moms, I am just practicing and going over the anatomy of the boobs!
